Frontend & Shopify Developer
Shopify development
I’m a frontend and Shopify developer based in Istanbul. I work with Liquid and Online Store 2.0, considering a store’s products, content and shopping journeys together. My work spans reusable theme components, product discovery, cart integrations and customer dashboards.
Development around the store’s needs
Extending an existing theme, building a new page structure and adding a custom customer journey are different kinds of work. The technical scope needs to account for the theme, installed apps and the way the store’s team manages content.
Liquid and Online Store 2.0 theme architecture
I build sections, blocks, snippets and JSON templates that give different storefront pages a shared component structure. Theme editor settings should be usable by the people managing content, while custom development needs to respect the existing theme’s schema and upgrade paths.
Product discovery and cart experiences
I work on product and collection pages, variant selection, search suggestions and mobile filters. Cart work includes store-specific shopping flows through Ajax Cart and Admin GraphQL integrations. Keeping product information, available choices and the next step connected is central to that work.
Customer accounts and subscription workflows
My experience includes customer dashboards embedded in Liquid themes, tag-based access and subscription entitlements. These projects involve more than screens: sessions, profiles, plan capabilities and usage limits need to work together as part of the account experience.
Integrations, performance and technical SEO
My capabilities include Shopify APIs, metafields, metaobjects and Flow. Theme work also involves image loading, third-party scripts, accessibility and structured data. I consider both the maintenance of an added feature and its effect on the shopping experience.
Examples of Shopify work
These projects formed part of my Frontend & Shopify Developer role at SM Design from September 2021 to July 2026. I worked fully remotely from Istanbul with the team in the United States.
Lynda Kids · Customer dashboard and membership
I built a customer dashboard embedded in a Shopify Liquid theme, using ES modules, client-side routing and shared state to create an app-like account experience. The subscription system mapped customer tags to plan capabilities, including profile limits and the transition to family-level entitlements.
I connected an automated discount flow triggered by cart requests to a Vercel serverless service using Shopify Admin GraphQL. Authentication, profile synchronization and connected-device status in the customer dashboard were also part of this work.
Arditi Collection · DTC and B2B storefront
I extended an Online Store 2.0 furniture theme while preserving the commercial base theme’s hooks and schema compatibility. Product page work covered variant and SKU selection, grouped media, 3D/AR support, lead-time information and customer-tag-aware trade pricing.
I added suggestions, faceted filtering and mobile filter experiences across collection and search journeys. Material discovery and forms for quotes, trade applications and project submissions used shared component structures.
A theme the team can keep managing
My approach centers on reusable Liquid components, understandable theme editor settings and frontend modules with clear responsibilities. Across both Shopify stores, I consolidated repeated code into shared snippets and standardized theme settings and code formatting.
I use Vitest, Playwright and GitHub Actions in testing and delivery. Performance work also starts with concrete loading behavior: preparing first-screen media early, deferring noncritical third-party code and loading images around the viewport. The portfolio includes the full experience with its dates and context.
